Responsible for greeting guests and creating an exceptional Aulani dining experience. Servers take/deliver orders and anticipate additional needs while bringing the story of Aulani to life in their interactions. Converse with Guests and Cast in Hawaiian to demonstrate 'Olelo . May be involved with role playing or themed restaurants. High guest service expectations, initiative and ability to hold conversations with guests to assist with a storytelling experience while dining
Responsibilities
Responsible for delivering orders to the Guest's table or staging area in the dining room/lounge area Responsible for welcoming and interacting with Guests in a positive and friendly manner May deliver orders to the Guests in the pool service area Delivers orders using designated pivot points Checks receipts and assembles the order for the Guest Knowledge and understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation including temperature requirements Has good judgment of food quality and production, understands the impact of spoilage Ensures that the food presentation is fresh and up to quality standards Replenishes food and other serving items on the serving line as necessary Anticipate Guests needs and assists with directions, event schedules, and other information or assistance as needed May pre-bus tables or seat guests May do Side Work pertaining to their craft including but not limited to cleaning work areas, stocking area, polishing silverware, fold/roll napkins Replenishes supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware and dishes in dining room Responsible for bussing tables, disposing of trash, maintaining the cleanliness of all restaurant areas, transporting dishes and silverware to the dish room, assembling Guest food orders and/or delivering them to the dining room.
Requirements
Constantly walking/standing
Constantly lifting small and large trays up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs
Frequent us of hands, wrist motion, grasping (opening wine bottles)
Works primarily indoors, but may be exposed to outdoors (patios, outdoor seating)
Must meet state requirements to obtain Hawaii Liquor Commission card
Must be at least 18 years of age
Strong knowledge of Hawaiian language - able to converse fluently in Hawaiian (must meet with Cultural Advisor to demonstrate language skills)
Strong knowledge of Hawaiian culture
Previous serving experience required
Ability to multi task and work in a very fast paced environment
Speed, accuracy and efficiency are required and ability to work well under pressure
Demonstrated ability to own and resolve guest situations
Demonstrated excellent Guest service and service recover skills
Adept at troubleshooting and can calmly handle difficult situations
Self directed, trusted and well respected by peers
Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and special events
Additional Qualifications
Alcohol Awareness Training (i.e. RVP, TIPS or equivalent)
Previous bartending experience in a fast paced high volume environment
Some food serving knowledge/experienceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
